ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
• Power system analysis, determine the origin and cause of fire and explosion
losses, failures of electronic equipment, appliances, and consumer product failures
evaluations, lightning strike damage, electric shock/electrocution causes, power surge
damage analysis, post-storm damage, flood, wind, hail, water intrusion, and construction
of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Provide guidance and leadership to newer colleagues and those with less experience on
complex engineering assignments.
• Consulting on power generation, grids, distribution, over-current protection, arc fault,
and ground-fault protection, installation standards of care, and arc mapping.
• Inspect losses and loss scenes at residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Investigate and assess damages and evidence due to design and maintenance failures, and
determine the failure's origin for insurers and litigation support.
• Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures.
• Examine and test evidence in a laboratory setting and research failure modes, products,
installations, and maintenance related to findings.
• Collaborate with third-party experts to produce detailed reports outlining the origin and
cause of losses and damages.
• Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis
and forensic engineering projects for clients.
Minimum Education and Licensing Requirements:
• A Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, college, or university is required.
• A Professional Engineering (PE) license is the minimum required for the resident state. We
prefer a multi-state licensing and an active NCEES Record.

Job Description
Elexana LLC seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Electrician’s Apprentice to support low-EMF and low-EMI electrical installations across residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Master Electrician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain wiring systems that meet both National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and electromagnetic safety best practices.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone entering the trade who wants hands-on training with exposure to traditional and cutting-edge electromagnetic field-safe building practices.
Responsibilities
Assist in installing electrical systems in new and existing buildings
Pull, cut, bend, and terminate wire and conduit
Support low-EMF and shielded cable installations
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and floor plans
Maintain tools and keep job sites organized and safe
Support the team in adhering to all NEC, NYC DOB, and OSHA safety requirements
Document materials and work progress for project records
Attend occasional classroom or field-based learning sessions
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an electrical training program preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites across NYC
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced electricians
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Professional communication skills and punctuality
A basic understanding of electrical theory is a plus
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred (But Not Required)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
Familiarity with shielded wiring, star-grounding layouts, or EMI/EMF reduction techniques
