What Does an EMF Testing Cost?

There are various ways an EMF Testing & Consulting Company can provide a price quote for your EMF on-site services. Some companies use square-footage metrics, number of rooms and floors, type of dwelling (apartment vs. the stand-alone house), hourly rate, or any variation of the above.

An EMF Consultant, in Santa Rosa, charges $180/hr plus $90/hr travel time. Any report would cost extra. For example, if he had a 4-hour roundtrip ($360) and the EMF survey and consultation took four hours ($720), the cost for his client would be $1,080.

This consultant is located in a suburb of California, Santa Rosa, where the relative living and operating costs are lower than in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York City, so some city EMF consultants may charge more. Because of the cost of doing business in a major city, these EMF consultants may charge between $200-250 per hour.

Most EMF service companies will grant a discount to the elderly and 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations.

Some companies take into account specific determining factors:

  • estimated length of time of a prospective testing

  • estimated travel costs; if leaving New York City

  • estimated travel time

  • number of rooms, number of bedrooms and workstations (We pay special attention to the sleeping areas and workstations, so they are weighted.)

  • square-footage of the home and size of the property

Elexana uses a fee/hour model. This reduces office workload, is unambiguous, and equitable for both the client and us.

(If you plan to fly us to your city or country, then there is the obvious essential additions to cost, such as: airline travel, car service, the estimated total hours of travel time, local hotel charges and GSA per diem.

If you are trying to decide on which EMF Services company to hire:

  1. Know what services you will be receiving.

Does the service provider check for wiring errors, stray current, skin voltage, electromagnetic interference, AC Magnetic and AC Electric Fields, RF Fields, etc. What make and model testing equipment will they use? How much time will the assessment require, etc.?

2. Know the consultant’s actionable safety limits.

An actionable EMF safety limit is the measured level at which the EMF expert considers the need to make recommendations for remediation and mitigation. If your consultant doesn’t believe that prolonged exposure to strong AC electric fields, AC magnetic fields, or RF (radio frequency fields) can pose health issues, then you would be wasting your time and money hiring these consultants. Do your research and decide on your own safety levels. An EMRS upholds the highest safety standards.

3. It’s best to hire an EMF services company that can provide a Certified Building Biology® EMRS (Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist.)

The only properly trained person to call on is a certified EMRS. Anyone else, and you will undoubtedly receive a poor assessment with incorrect solutions.

Please, know that no two EMF Services Companies are the same. It all depends on the knowledge, experience, thoroughness, and level of care with which the EMF Consultant brings to the visit.

When it comes to EMF remediation, our practice is first to suggest the most practical, cost-effective solutions. Often, the Law of Diminishing Returns applies to spending on EMF mitigation, too. Costs for remediation are analogous to buying stereo equipment; you could pay so much more for only a small increment of improvement. We will work with you to help determine what is best for your EMF situation and budget.

Keep in mind, much of the EMF remediation you’ll need can happen at no cost during the EMF testing and consultation.

Over the weekend, I had a new client from Santa Monica, California. She informed me that the City of Santa Monica holds EMF testing to be so important to health that it is now funding EMF testing for every resident of Santa Monica.

If everyone knew how impactful EMF is to health, our receptionists at ELEXANA would be overwhelmed with callers.

So, what does an EMF testing cost? Just give us a ring @ (212) 706-1252, and we will provide you with a complimentary quote. It would be our pleasure to meet you and hopefully, have the opportunity to offer our services.
